About Arc Length
An arc is a portion of a circle's circumference defined by a central angle. The arc length is the distance along the curved line from one endpoint of the arc to the other.
The sector is the pie-shaped region bounded by two radii and the arc. Its area is proportional to the central angle -- a 90-degree sector is exactly one quarter of the full circle's area.
The chord is the straight-line distance between the two endpoints of the arc. Together, the chord and the arc enclose a region called a segment.
All formulas use the angle in radians. One full revolution = 2*pi radians = 360 degrees. To convert degrees to radians, multiply by pi/180.
