Calculate Power
Quick Examples
Exponent Rules
Basic Power Rule
Multiply the base by itself n times.
Zero Exponent
Any non-zero number raised to the power of 0 equals 1.
Negative Exponent
A negative exponent means take the reciprocal.
Example: 2-3 = 1/23 = 1/8 = 0.125
Fractional Exponent
A fractional exponent represents a root. The denominator is the root index, the numerator is the power.
Example: 82/3 = ∛(82) = ∛64 = 4
